The not-for-profit Mid-Valley Independent Physicians Association is offering physicians in Oregon's Marion and Polk counties financial and technical support to help them adopt an integrated electronic health records and practice management system, the Business Journal of Portland reports.

The conversion to the NextGen Healthcare Information Systems' EHR system is expected to take three to five years. The program's budget is $8 million for the first three years. Area physicians' participation in the program will be voluntary, the Business Journal reports."
